Since 1990, the Washington County Mental Health Authority has been responsible for planning, developing and monitoring mental health services in Washington County to improve the quality of life for the citizens with mental illness. WCMHA has also been an advocate for consumers at the state and local levels and has been a resource for providers and the general public.

To excel in promoting mental wellness and improving quality of life through planning, funding, and monitoring the public mental health system in Washington County. This is accomplished by ensuring the provision of options through cost-effective quality services, advocating for consumers, assisting with community integration, and educating the public.
